Can you dual boot on M1 chip : You'll have to stream it or use Parallels. When Apple moved to its own silicon, its Mac computers lost a feature called Boot Camp, which let people dual boot between macOS and other operating systems, like Windows. Now, Microsoft is officially sanctioning running Windows 11 on Macs with M1 and M2 processors.

Why M1 does not support Boot Camp

M1 is an Arm architecture processor and not x86-64, and Apple Boot Camp is for x86-64 processors. Windows for x86-64 will not boot and will not work on an M1 processor.

Why no Boot Camp M1 : Apple's M-series chips use the Arm architecture, which is different from the x86 architecture in Intel processors, so the version of Windows that runs on Intel PCs will not work on M-series Macs. With Apple's transition to the M1 processor in 2020, the company decided to not develop Boot Camp for the M-series Macs.

While Boot Camp is still supported in Ventura, you won't find it on an M1 or M2 Mac. If a user wants to run Windows on one of those newer Macs, the solution is to use the Arm-version of Windows through virtualization software.

Windows 11 and Parallels Desktop

M1 and M2 are far from obsolete

Will Boot Camp come to M2

That won't provide the best performance that would be capable through a native solution, but Apple has shown no signs of supporting Boot Camp on M1 or M2 Macs.
