They are able to recognize whether a text is realistic fiction, fantasy, or nonfiction/informational by its features. In informational texts, Level F readers notice and are able to learn new facts about a variety of topics.Books at Levels F and G have accessible content that expands beyond home, neighborhood, and school. They start to introduce some content specific words which are explained and illustrated in the story. The stories become longer and there is less repetition. Illustrations are important at these levels.

What is the G reading level : LEVEL G BOOKS usually have a variety of themes – informational, fantasy, realistic fiction, and traditional tales. The stories may have settings that are unfamiliar to your child. The sentences in the stories will be longer (more than ten words) but the vocabulary should be familiar.
