It's a great book. A little hard to read since it's in old English (depends on your version). It's a bit annoying that the women are desperate to get married, but it's a whole other century! It'll be boring for younger kids, so 12+.Light Spoilers Ahead There is a fair amount of drinking and smoking, mostly due to the reflection of the time period it's set in. If you have younger kids or teens its probably best to skip minutes 17-20 (jump to next chapter at 17:11 and it picks up right after, you don't miss anything important.

It's beautifully written and Jay Gatsby is an unforgettable character. There is a line within the first page about how the decencies of men are parceled our unequally at birth. So, yes. Resounding yes.
