Beautiful, Sweeping, Epic, and Just A Bit Scary
It's a film I can't wait to share with my children but they'll have to wait for middle-school as it's just spooky enough to keep it out of the reach of the 10 and under crowd. The violence is sometimes bloody and there are swords and arrows flying every which way.If your kids are looking for an epic fantasy adventure, J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are classic places to start. Generations have been drawn to the characters' heroic quests, which have spawned dozens of books, TV shows, video games, and apps.Heterosexual love and marriage are depicted in The Lord of the Rings, but unobtrusively, to the extent that some critics have stated that there are no women in the book. The main heterosexual relationships are those involving Sam Gamgee, Éowyn of Rohan, and Aragorn.
What is the violence in The Lord of the Rings : Soldiers on both sides are shot, stabbed, speared, decapitated and limbs are hacked off (though no blood splatters, we see bloodied swords). One principal character takes out several orcs and we see his bloodied sword. A hobbit stabs a villain, kills him, and he looks at his bloodied sword.
Can my 10 year old watch Lord of the Rings
Not suitable due to disturbing scenes and violence. Parental guidance recommended due to disturbing scenes and violence. Ok for this age group.
Is the ring ok for a 12 year old : I recently watched this with my 12 year old kid and he loved this movie. It had nothing bad in it, there was no sex/nudity, no F-words or any other extreme language, no drugs, no gore, but lots of terror. It was really scary for a PG-13 movie but it had nothing bad in it, just scary.
Not for kids under 12
My 12 year old has read it and didn't get nightmares but he is has always liked those kinds of books so I recommend it for no younger then 12 but a great book for 12 year olds.
The only kissing I can recall is when Frodo kissed Merry, Pippin and Sam good-bye before he got on the ship to Elvenhome. Aragorn also kissed Boromir's brow as he lay dying. Tolkien was a bit of a prude, so if you're not allowed to read man-woman romantic stuff, you're in the clear.
Did Legolas ever fall in love
Tauriel truly threw a wrench in Legolas' life when he fell in love with her. She was brave, fierce, and a protective leader of the guard. He was meant to be the dutiful son of King Thranduil, but in loving her, he became a stubborn, masterful archer instead. This film features continuous intense action violence, including scenes of blood and other injury. Examples include: Wars between good and evil where killing of people and creatures by sword, knives, bow and arrows, catapult and ball and chain are seen. Why are people upset about The Rings of Power Tolkien fans whose imagined version of Middle-earth puts white people front and center have taken issue with the show's casting. They claim The Rings of Power is doing a disservice to the books, which Tolkien based on ancient European civilizations.
It's a great read-aloud for children as young as six or seven, but I wouldn't recommend it for kids younger than 11 or 12 to read by themselves. The Hobbit is a wonderful story because it has almost the perfect dose of every story element. The overall plot is straightforward but filled with many sub-adventures.
Is Elden Ring ok for a 13 year old : Great game with minimal gore but requires maturity
There's no dismemberment or gore. The enemies are not humans (but two late game bosses are). The only thing that gives this game a higher rating is the fact that it is for the mature. If you get easily angry or give up quickly it's probably not for you.
Is Lord of the Rings inappropriate : In addition to the violent and disturbing scenes mentioned above, this movie has some scenes that could particularly disturb children in this age group. For example: Frodo has a premonition of his town being burned to the ground by Sauron. His vision shows hobbit children and grown-ups running in fear.
Can a 7 year old read The Hobbit
I think the average age for reading aloud is 6+ and the average age for reading to yourself is 11+. It contains a few very sad deaths and my daughter nearly cried when one of the most important characters died. As well, it contains evil elves, goblins and dangerous wolves.

And when they return to the Shire, Sam moves into Bag End with Frodo — no longer a servant, but an equal and a constant companion.
Did Aragorn and Legolas kiss : "What a great adventure it shall be," Legolas replied, ushering Aragorn to the head of the ship, never letting go of his hands, kissing him softly on the lips. "I could not have picked a better person to adventure with than you Aragorn." "Let us go home Legolas," Aragorn said, staring off beyond the horizon.
