Is Exorcist scary : Extreme violence, gore, and psychological torture. Parents need to know that The Exorcist is a terrifying 1970s horror film about a young girl who becomes demonically possessed and violent. Expect extreme gore, grotesque effects (bulging eyes, sores, etc.), and scares, and two important characters die.

Violence & Scariness. Jump scares, demonic attacks, death by suicide (a bloodied body briefly hangs, attacked by birds), and other deaths. Plenty of blood seen in the form of severed body parts, pools of blood, and a brief image of blood flowing down stairs. A character is buried alive but survives.

This movie will only frighten you with its crudeness.

Talk to Me has a fright-filled, fast-paced, and often unpredictable story that'll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

The entire movie is very tense, uncomfortable and the threat of violence looms throughout despite their only being one instance of a violent act. There is a vivid reference to rape, scenes where a man acts strangely and obsessively over the cameraman, moments of erratic behavior and many jumpscares.11-13 year olds may be better equipped to navigate the scary movie scene on some level but each child is different. If your child watches something that they say is not scary to them but then starts coming to you at night wanting to sleep closer to you or is having nightmares let their behavior speak for them.
