What is hyperlexia

Hyperlexia is advanced and unexpected reading skills and abilities in children way beyond their chronological age. It is a fairly recently named condition (1967) although earlier descriptions of precocious reading do exist.At this age, your kids can probably handle everything J.K. Rowling sends their way, but you might want to watch the more mature movies with them. Read: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two (This is good for kids age 10+ but includes spoilers for Book 7.This does not mean that others can't read / watch and understand Harry Potter. Its just that book four onwards might be a little frightening to kids below 8. If you are asking for an academic level, they are rated at 4th to 7th grade levels through the accelerated reader program.
