There's absolutely no doubt that Left 4 Dead is one of the most social and exciting multiplayer games that we've ever played. It's almost pitch perfect in how it captures the tension and the action of a Hollywood zombie movie.Logically speaking, it could simply be because L4D2 has been out for a decade and is still playable. A lot of people have picked it up over the years. If the genre defining game is still playable, seems most would prefer to play it. The gore is the main reason I strongly prefer Left 4 Dead 2.The game, and community still alive, thanks to Valve, who still support us all with their servers, updates, upgrades and so on. I bet L4D2 will be alive in 5 years aswell. They don't cost a lot of money though. Also there hasn't been a non-legally mandated update/upgrade since something like 2013.

Becuas the original common zombies move in straight line and hit fast. That makes it harder until you leran to just camp corners. The tank also kills people instead of moving on to the next player, it also moves faster on fire. Personally I find L4D1 harder.
