Highlights. The Elder Scrolls 6 may not feature the Dragonborn as the protagonist, but there could be references to their deeds and adventures in the game. The game could expand on the lore of other Dragonborns, allowing players to discover artifacts or complete side quests related to past heroes.

Can I play Skyrim forever : You can complete all the main quests, side quests, etc. eventually when the ebony warrior pops up you can pretty much assure yourself that your basically almost if not at 100% done with Skyrim. But with quests like Dark Brotherhood forever, the companions jobs, Thieves guild quests. There's just no end.

Can I play Skyrim in 2024 : Go for it! I always find these questions weird. Any game is worth playing in any year by any player if the player thinks it looks fun. The only exception is if the game was online only and now can't be played, and then it's not a question of whether it's worth it, you don't get a choice.
